Virtual Reality for Events

By March 10, 2017

Flower crowns, bug eyes, or dog ears? If you had to live a day of your life as a Snapchat filter, which would you choose? While it may sound like science fiction, new virtual reality technology use at events is taking over and taking attendees and events to new and interesting heights.

Event Manager Blog has listed trends in virtual reality for events that can help your staff stay with the times.  Here are our top three favorites:

  1. Social Media as a Gateway-Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat are changing the way your event can be seen. You have the ability to create geofilters on Snapchat, stream your event on Facebook, and live tweet on Twitter.
  2. Mobile Virtual Reality-Event planners are using equipment, such as the Samsung Galaxy Gear, to incorporate into their events. Since the devices are mobile, virtual reality can literally be at the palm of your hand.
  3. Virtual Event– Virtual events enable at home spectators to be part of the excitement even though they’re not physically there.

If you’re planning or hosting an event, would you consider using virtual reality? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
