Time for Tea

By January 9, 2020

January is National Hot Tea Month and there’s no better way to celebrate than by planning a tea party. Having a tea party-themed wedding shower or birthday party is an elegant way for your clients to celebrate a special occasion. Here are a few tips for planning a terrific tea party:

More than tea

Some people at your event may not like tea. Earl Grey and English breakfast are both great tea options, but consider serving other beverages, such as coffee, hot cocoa, or even mimosas.

Think small

It’s not a tea party without finger foods! Serving smaller portion sizes of your dishes allows guests to fill their plate while getting to try everything you have to offer. Popular tea party foods include finger sandwiches and small desserts like macarons. For more menu inspiration for your tea party check out The Spruce Eats blog.

Serve on tiers

Wow your guests by serving the food in a visually-appealing way, such as on a tier or other decorative stand. Not only does look like a display you’d find during afternoon tea at the Waldorf Hotel, but it’s a great space saver.

Personalize your place settings to match your event’s theme or include a name card at each seat. There are so many creative options!
