2012 Holiday Parties More Personal, Less Flashy

By December 11, 2012 TAGS:

The days of large, lavish holiday parties have passed. Due in large part to the recession, companies had to rethink the size and scope of their holiday parties, leading to the latest trends that event planners are experiencing today.
One such trend that has emerged is the focus on smaller, more personal parties. Creating a party for a department, instead of an entire company, is more personal and helps attendee interaction. Activities such as a photo booth or karaoke can go a long way in engaging attendees, as well.
Another trend that has developed is the focus on food and drink, specifically what and how it is served. Long buffets and caviar are out, and create-your-own stations, such as MEET’s Martini Mash station, are in. When it comes to drinks, more emphasis is spent on the ingredients themselves than on the garnishes that accompany them.
What other trends are you seeing this holiday party season?
